Black History Makers Return To Grady

Three notable African-American executives shared their experiences with Grady High School students on Friday morning.

Three prominent African-American professionals shared their life experiences with students on Friday morning, part of a nationwide project sponsored by The HistoryMakers.

Talent management chief executive Dina Ruth Andrews, president and general manager of Dina Andrews Management and Knew Beginnings, spoke to students in the school theater. 

Also speaking to students in their classrooms were electrical engineer Ayanna Howard, creator of the SnoMote robots and the founder of the Human-Automation Systems Lab at Georgia Tech; and electrical engineer and engineering professor Kevin Kornegay, Motorola Foundation Professor at Georgia Tech.

Five hundred African-American history makers attended schools across the nation on Friday in an effort to bring renewed attention to the needs of the nation’s education system and their students. These individuals and schools were part of the nationwide Second Annual Back To School program sponsored by the organization.

The HistoryMakers is the nation’s largest African-American video oral history archive. Almost 109 cities and 35 states participated in Friday's program.
