Greenprint Midtown Interactive Visioning Session set for Tuesday

Midtown news to use for the remainder of the week.

Midtown Alliance invites you Tuesday evening to give your input on potential high-impact, high-value projects and programs that would position Midtown as the first urban eco-district in the Southeast.

The Greenprint Midtown Interactive Visioning Session will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the AT&T Conference Center, located at 725 West Peachtree Street.

An RSVP is required to the free event. With the help of local residents, Midtown can build off of its existing assets to become even greener. The Midtown Alliance is engaging the community in developing a community-wide sustainability action plan focusing on five key areas – water, energy, waste, transportation and greenspace.

For the next three Saturdays, The Orion School is sponsoring a free drop-in 'Soccer Saturday' clinics for children ages 5-13 who need a more supportive program for success. Typical participants have neurobehavioral conditions including ADHD, Asperger's and anxiety. The goal is to offer an opportunity for a low stress alternative to traditional soccer leagues and self-confidence building through participation in a recreational sport.

The clinics will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at 458 Ponce de Leon Ave. ()

The mornings also give parents a chance to just relax and connect with other supportive families. At least one adult needs to stay and siblings are welcome to join the fun. Healthy snacks are a welcome addition. The coaches for Soccer Saturdays are educators with a lifetime of experience playing and coaching soccer and team sports. The last morning has an awards ceremony for all participants regardless of how many mornings attended.
