Updated: SCAD Reopens after Bomb Threat

College on Peachtree Street evacuated Monday morning.

Monday morning, the main building of  in Midtown was evacuated after school officials received a threatening phone call.

"It was a bomb threat," said Officer Kim Jones, spokeswoman for the Atlanta Police Department.

Sgt. David McGinnis said the call came about 8:10 a.m. "They said there's a bomb in the building," he said.

School officials decided to evacuate the students. 

Two police dogs and four officers searched the building for explosives. No explosives were found.

Around 11 a.m., the college reopened for classes. 

"The school did reopen immediately after our sweep and things should be back to normal," McGinnis said in a email at 11:30 a.m.

Classes missed as a result of the situation will be rescheduled, a SCAD spokeswoman said in an email.
