The Race2Recycle helps to support Keep Atlanta Beautiful in empowering Atlanta's communities to sustain cleaner and greener neighborhoods and recycling efforts. Keep Atlanta Beautiful is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. Proceeds from the race will go towards purchasing supplies for neighborhood cleanups and beautification projects, graffiti removal and more.
Registration begins at 7:30 am under the Pavilion at Piedmont Park. The 5K run/walk begins at 8:30am followed by an Awards Ceremony with prizes from IKEA, Phidippides and Zoo Atlanta with emcee Jovita Moore, from WSB-TV.
5K entrants are eligible for awards for overall male and female, male and female masters and first place in age groups 10 & under, 11-14,15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+. Overall male and female and masters will receive a $250 sustainable design consultation and makeover from IKEA.
IKEA will provide food, water and coffee for all runners including their famous cinnamon rolls.This event is kid, stroller and dog-friendly.
Bring your old running shoes, lightbulbs, handheld devices, batteries and eyeglasses to recycle on race day.
