A little football is on the schedule for Midtown on the final day of 2012.
At Grady Stadium, nearly 100 of Georgia’s top high school football juniors will play in the RisingSeniors.com AT&T Georgia Junior Bowl at noon.
Founded by former Georgia Tech star, Joe Burns, the third annual all-star game was specifically designed to showcase the state’s top high school junior football players. The game will stream live on ESPN3 and be available on demand shortly after the event at PlayOn! Sports’ Georgia portal.

Also Monday, Georgia Tech’s football team is in El Paso, Texas for the 79th annual Hyundai Sun Bowl. The Jackets, 6-7, face Southern Cal, 7-5, in a game set to kickoff at 2 p.m. and televised locally by CBS Atlanta. It will mark the fourth meeting between the two schools and the first in 39 years when USC defeated Tech 29-18 in 1973.
This is the Yellow Jackets’ 16th consecutive bowl appearance, tied for the fourth-longest active streak among FBS schools, and Tech will be playing in its 41st bowl game overall (22-17).
Tech is playing in its second consecutive Sun Bowl after falling to Utah 30-27 in overtime in 2011.
