Peachtree Road Race fans can vote on their favorite T-shirt design for the 43rd running of the July 4 5K, which concludes on 10th Street alongside Piedmont Park.
The Atlanta Track Club this week announced the five finalists, including three University of West Georgia students and two local graphic designers. A panel of judges representing the Atlanta Track Club, the AJC and local graphic artists made the selections, according to a news release.
Voting for the 2012 AJC Peachtree Road Race T-shirt design is open until April 30 at ajc.com/peachtree. The winning design, which will be unveiled on July 4, will be featured on 60,000 AJC Peachtree Road Race T-shirts. The winning artist will receive $1,000, and each of the four runners-up $100.
The finalists are Mallory Royal, a recent graduate of the University of West Georgia's photography program; Caitlyn Weathers, a West Georgia photography student; Rachel Campbell, a graphics designer and founder of branding and creative design firm, Logos Atlanta; Clarissa Robinson, a graphics design student at West Georgia; and Jared Swafford, a graphics designer.
Runners seeking to participate in the Peachtree have until 11:59 p.m. Thursday to register online for the lottery. Those who make the field will be notified by March 26.
