Is the Green Market tops in the USA?

The Green Market at Piedmont Park is held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the 12th Street entrance to the park

Have you checked out the Green Market at Piedmont Park this year? If you have, do you think it’s worthy of being the best in all the land?

If so, then vote for it in American Farmland Trust’s 4th annual America’s Favorite Farmers Markets contest. Beginning Friday, June 22, farmers market shoppers throughout the nation can vote for their favorite markets at www.votemyfarmersmarket.org.

The summer long competition aims to see which farmers markets can generate the most votes from their customers. The goal of the contest is to promote the role that farmers markets play in keeping family farmers on the land.

As part of the contest, a $1,000 Farmers Market Inspiration Award, sponsored by the Farmers Market Coalition, will be presented to a farmer showing the greatest dedication to his/her market.

Every Saturday May through early December, the Green Market at the 12th Street entrance to Piedmont Park features vendors, local farmers and fresh produce. See here for a detailed list of vendors.

The market takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and this week, you don’t want to miss meeting some of Capra Gia's goats! Chef Rafih of Imperial Fez will be putting on a cooking demonstration and the Atlanta Freedom Band will be providing live entertainment.
