The New Metrics of Firing and Hiring Workers

On any given friday, a webmaster making $50,000 plus is fired and is replaced by someone who will make less. Is this cutting costs or the bullying going on the the job market these days. Corporations who see all employees as cost are now grinding pay levels in a downward spiral as CEO compensations hits an all time high. Slowly corporate leaders are chipping away at the dignity of the American worker. Everyday, do to the downward spiral of pay/worker-income buying a home and living the American Dream is becoming out of reach for way too many even with two incomes. The young are being abused financially. Fat cat CEO's are factoring in decreasing salaries to their models to make bigger profits for the companies and bigger bonuses for themselves. With capitalism out of control the worst is being manifested. Lately the future looks very grim for the majority of the young leaving college with their unemployment in some surveys 3 times that of the national average  (8-9%.) For the minorities without college level education the numbers are even worse. Good workers let go from their jobs are taking other workers jobs by being willing to do more for less pay. I know of one local company that made, not requested, employees to increase their hours while reducing their pay and medical benefits all while the company is flourishing. This is not good. Now for those who work for themselves perhaps they see things a bit differently, yet I have found the smaller the company the more humane they treat their employees. Larger corporations use people like slaves with a set cost number to be added and discharged to streamline profits. I believe workers are humans who in many cases are now being abused. No wonder so many of the young are not getting married, or don't want to have children. In most cases working two jobs they can't support themselves and either live at home or need their parents financial help. It makes me angry, it makes me sad. Greed is winning over decency. In the end a huge fundamental change will happen, has to happen, I am guessing it won't be pretty.
