FedEx Cares Week gives back at Open Hand

More than 80 FedEx Atlanta team members participated in the service project on Monday at the Atlanta nonprofit.

FedEx Corp. has launched its eighth annual FedEx Cares Week, providing volunteer and service opportunities for team members both in the U.S. and around the world.

On Monday, more than 80 FedEx team members from Atlanta, along with the local United Way, volunteered at the Atlanta nonprofit, Open Hand, by preparing and packaging meals for home delivery, assembling grocery bags and working on grounds/building maintenance projects.

Open Hand, located at 176 Ottley Drive on the cusp of Midtown and Buckhead, helps people prevent or better manage chronic disease through Comprehensive Nutrition Care, which combines home-delivered meals and nutrition education as a means to reinforce the connection between informed food choices and improved quality of life.
