Wind Chill Makes it Feel Like Freezing for Most of the Day

A wind advisory will be in effect from noon to 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Try to get any errands that require you to leave the house done this morning. Although it's cold, gusts of wind up to 30 mph may blow in between noon and 5 p.m. today.

You'll battle either the cold or the high winds, depending on whether you head out this morning or afternoon.

It was 17 degrees at 7 a.m. with the slight wind making it feel more like 11. Today's high will be around 46 between 3 and 5 p.m., but the steady wind will make it feel much colder – and the gusts will make it seem even chillier.

West winds between 15 and 20 mph will be overtaken by gusts up to 30 mph. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory between noon and 5 p.m. today.

"Winds this strong can make driving difficult for high profile vehicles. Unsecured outdoor items such as trash cans and lawn furniture may be blown around," the wind advisory warned. "In addition, these types of winds could down trees and large limbs."

If that weren't enough, the high winds and lack of moisture will create high fire conditions.

The temperature is forecast to rise slightly on Sunday, but on Monday a cold front will push thourhg the eara. Gusty winds will drop wind chill values into the single digits for much of the area Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
