Participate in MLK Day Events Monday

Annual commemorative services at Ebenezer Baptist Church and the annual MLK Day March and Rally offer chances for residents celebrate the holiday.

Midtown and the rest of Metro Atlanta offer many opportunities to celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday.

In Buckhead, the Atlanta History Center is offering free admission all day. This features all-inclusive access to exhibitions in the Atlanta History Museum; experiences at the 1928 Swan House and the 1860 Smith Family Farm; the Centennial Olympic Games Museum; and 22 acres of gardens and trails.

The MLK Day 5K will be held on 10th Street at Piedmont Park. The event starts at 7 a.m. and ends at noon. It will require closure of 10th Street between Charles Allen and Monroe.

Ebenezer Baptist Church will host the annual commemorative services at 10 a.m.

Auburn Avenue – in front of the MLK Center – will be the location for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Holiday Commemorative March & Rally. The event starts at 1:45 p.m. and will end by 4:30 p.m.

A section of Peachtree Street between Baker Street and Auburn Avenue will be closed.
