Sing, Eat, Shop, Give and be Merry in Midtown This Week!

Even if you're not in the holiday mood, there's great happenings in and around Midtown all week long. Check our events calendar for more!

'Tis the season for holiday fun and sharing as we take a look at what’s on tap this week in and around Midtown Atlanta.

On Tuesday night, jazz drummer Justin Chesarek and his band are bringing exciting new compositions of swing and soul to Churchill Grounds. The Midtown jazz club recently refocused its environment with a new stage and piano and Chesarek returns to where he developed his unique sound in the room while holding a near five-year residency there on Wednesday nights. The room is non-smoking and admission is $10 cash door charge.

Also Tuesday, check out the Museum of Design Atlanta’s Paul Rand inspired event, as representatives from the global brand design agency, Son&Sons, will offer a talk about Rand’s influence and their current work. It's from 6 to 8 p.m. a.m. and cost 10 bucks, but is free to MODA members.

On Wednesday night, come join December's Green Drinks at Villains from 6 to 9 p.m. on the Midtown Mile. The free event (cash bar; free appetizers for the first hour while they last) is open to everyone, and new faces are always welcome. Atlanta Green Drinks is a casual gathering of Atlantans who think about the environment in some capacity—for work, for fun, for necessity. Hosted by the Georgia Conservancy's Generation Green, Green Drinks is held on the second Wednesday of each month and brings together people from a broad variety of backgrounds to discuss the environment and sustainability, network, and enjoy some drinks with friends.

On Thursday, 12th & Midtown kicks off its “12 Days of Midtown” for a second consecutive year. Holiday deals and steals will be available through Dec. 23, as patrons of select tenants who mention “12 Days of Midtown” will receive the following special offers: Cucina Asellina: Complimentary glass of bubbly; Eleven/Bar Eleven: $5 signature “Cocktail 12”; Exhale Spa: $25 off any 60- or 90-minute spa therapy plus a complimentary class (same day as service only); Mi Cocina: Select cocktails and appetizers for just $5 each (Monday-Friday, 5-7 p.m.); Piola: $5 signature cocktails caipirinha or caipiroska; Raw Denim: 12 percent off entire purchase (in store only, excludes sale items and accessories, cannot be combined with another offer); Republic of Couture: $15 gift card with a $30 minimum purchase (excludes sale and café items); STK: Complimentary glass of bubbly.

Finally on Friday at 5 Seasons Brewing on the westside, join 5 Seasons' merry band of Santa wannabes who will pop off their “sleigh” (it’s really a trolley car) and into local restaurants to entertain patrons for five quick minutes with a rousing carol or two. They will pass a Santa hat for donations for the Child Development Association and in the blink of an eye they’ll be off to the next “rooftop”.
