Al-Farooq Masjid, Midtown's most prominent mosque, is located near the Georgia Tech and Atlantic Station communities on 14th Street. It is Atlanta's oldest mosque, though recently renovated, and includes marble throughout with intricately hand-painted walls and ceilings. The mosque is always open to its members, but visitors are welcome by appointment (you can find a request form on its website). The mosque features a conference room in addition to its large prayer room and hosts many of metro-Atlanta's big events and lectures about the Islamic faith.
