"Founded by firemen" is the tagline used by Firehouse Subs, and the decor reminds visitors of that fact at every turn. One wall bears an enormous painting of three Atlanta firefighters and a dog, with a nearly life-size fire engine as backdrop. Authentic-seeming gear, including hats, coats and a breathing apparatus, are hung on other walls. The employees at Firehouse are not above setting a fire on occasion. It should be noted: The main counter in this restaurant has, on average, 30 brands of hot sauce for customer use or purchase. Last, but not least, the black, white and red color scheme is reinforced with Dalmatian-spotted tabletops. With red chairs--hot seats--of course.
