Mystic Lotus Salon is on the first floor of a renovated Victorian house that's also home to Babs, Town Cleaners, Gizzelle James Couturiere, offices, and a massage and chiropractic clinic. The salon's large room feels like a living space, intimate and calm but full of light from the windows. Owner Ayisha Phillips opened Mystic Lotus in September 2010 with two other stylists, Kyle Chandler and Justin Fredericksen, as well as an esthetician, Louise Santana. Phillips specializes in hair extensions and make-up. Chandler is a coloring expert who has been featured in a New York Times bestseller "How Not to Look Old." Fredericksen styles men's and women's hair and is certified in keratin hair-smoothing. The Mystic Lotus is open by appointment, but the staff welcomes and allows time for walk-ins.
