The area would be much nicer if they got rid of the clubs on crescent and brought more upscale restaurants in their place. The street looks like Bankhead on Thursdays especially. Midtown mile will never be the rodeo drive that they want it to be if it is unable to attract an upscale clientele.   more ›

It's musical chairs in the ATL office market - too much supply and massive tenant concessions will do that. Positive net absorption is unfortunately all too rare in ATL. Downtown needs to figure out its identity and address myriad quality of life issues if it wants to be relevant again beyond public sector space and higher ed.   more ›

Midtown Development: More apartments on the way

Ponce City Market opts for apartments over condos; 12th & Midtown developers acquire more property in the heart of Midtown.

Last week, Midtown Patch took a look at a trio apartment development projects on the westside of the city, but development news was popping in Midtown and the Old Fourth Ward, too. As reported by Curbed Atlanta, the developers behind Ponce City Market have decided to shift from condominiums to apartments. In 2011, Jamestown Properties began plans to adapt the former Sears & Roebuck building and 16-acre tract — some 2 million square feet in all — to create about 1 million square feet of retail, office and residential components, plus parking, green spaces and more. 12/12/12 in Midtown ... what's in a date?

In celebration of all things a dozen, Park 75 Lounge’s kicks off "The 12 Days of Cocktails" at the Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta, while the 12th & Midtown district begins its “12 Days of Midtown” Wednesday, too.

From weddings to doomsday predictions, 12/12/12 is a special date that comes but once every 100 years, but then again, don’t all dates come just once a century? Still, aside from being easy to memorize, there are those who believe today’s date is auspicious. Numerologist Dr. Vivek Chopra wrote in a Jagran Post article that 12/12/12 is a special date in numerology. "If we add 12/12/12 or 12/12/2012, the number we get is 5 and 9 which is the number of planet Mars and Moon. If we add 2+1, we get number 3, which denotes planet Jupiter. This way all 5, 9 and 3 numbers relate to friendly and cool planet," Chopra said in the article. Well, we do know that 12/12/12 is the last time there will be repeating dates for almost 100 years (January 1, …

I agree, the Brokwood location is the best out of all the locations. The charm of the building gives it a great atmosphere that makes you want to come back. Not very many places can replicate that feeling of comfort and intamicy. Bad decision to close that down, sorry to say.   more ›
