Two New Restaurants Coming to 12th & Midtown

Full-service Indian restaurant, Chutney, and Taco Diner, a traditional Mexico City-style taqueria, are slated to open in late summer 2013 at 77 12th Street.

12th & Midtown, the more than 3-million-square-foot master-planned mixed-use development in the heart of Midtown, will be adding two new restaurants next summer at 77 12th Street with the addition of Chutney, a full-service Indian restaurant with a decidedly upscale and modern twist, and Taco Diner, a traditional Mexico City-style taqueria.  77 12th, the third phase of the 12th & Midtown master plan, is a 23-story mixed-use tower consisting of 330 luxury one-and-two-bedroom apartment homes atop 20,000 square feet of retail space and restaurants. Construction continues on a trio of  Midtown high-rises. Here in a recent video from Immovable Media Inc., see the current progress of SkyHouse Midtown and two more prominent Midtown construction projects. For more from Immovable Media, see here. The 12-story, dual-branded Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton Hotels is at the corner of Williams and 10th streets. Combined, the hotels will have 226 units and will feature a 110-seat restaurant and lounge. The hotels are set to open early next year. I'm with you on Novare's drab, unimaginitive projects, including Skyhouse; though I am intrigued by the rooftop amenities, as well as 77 12th's 6th floor amenity deck. I'm all for more infill, more residents, more amenities etc. It sure won't hurt my condo value! 12th street up to 14th are going to start looking great- very dense and upscale. Earlier this month developers filed plans with the city to build a 23-story 320-unit luxury apartment tower in Midtown called 100 6th Street. Novare Group and Batson-Cook Development Company hope to have the mixed-use, which will stand behind the existing 36-story Viewpoint condo tower, completed by no later than 2014. The project will follow the 23-story 320-unit high-rise apartment building called SkyHouse Midtown that Novare and Batson-Cook are currently developing at the corner of West Peachtree and 12th streets. Some critics have been quite vocal about the parking decks associated with both projects. An update on three major construction projects in Midtown Atlanta

It’s nice to see so many cranes in the Midtown skies these days. Three major projects are in mid-construction and a fourth, Novare Group’s “100 6th Street” apartment high-rise, is in the planning stages. The first to break ground was the dual-branded Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton Hotel last August. The hotel has created some 200 construction jobs and will provide more than 100 full-time jobs when it's complete and ready to open in early 2013.
