City could spend $2.47M on bike projects in 2013

One year of improvement funding could add 15 miles of “high quality bicycle infrastructure” for Atlanta.

It soon might get easier to pedal your bike around Atlanta as the City Council's Finance Committee on Thursday began considering allocating almost $2.5 million towards bicycle projects according to a post at the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition (ABC) website. The funds would come from Quality of Life bonds for complete Streets improvements and could add 15 miles of “high quality bicycle infrastructure” for Atlanta in 2013. This would be comparable to bike-friendly cities such as Seattle and Washington D.C. according to the ABC.
