Midtown Bike Shop Hit By Theft

Perpetrator(s) reportedly threw a brick through a window to gain entrance.

Skate Escape, a Midtown landmark for more than three decades outside the 12th Street entrance to Piedmont Park, is a full service skate and bicycle shop that proudly, “Lets the Good Times Roll!’’ Sometime after closing Tuesday night, the bad times rolled out the window in the form of a stolen 2012 Masi Evoluzione bicycle that is worth in excess of $3,000 when purchased new. According to Atlanta Police, a next-door neighbor of the shop located at 1086 Piedmont Avenue noticed shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday that a window had been shattered at the establishment.
