Police: Man in pick-up truck tried to snatch a 7-year-old girl.

The Atlanta Police Department issued the following alert: On Aug. 22 at about 7:45 p.m., a black male driving a black pick-up truck attempted to kidnap a 7 year-old girl from the corner of Parkway Drive NE and Angier Avenue NE. Welcome, Boulevard's Finest

Atlanta Police Department opens mini-precinct at Medical Center to concentrate on Boulevard corridor.

The long-awaited Atlanta Police Department mini-precinct on Boulevard opened Monday at the Atlanta Medical Center, serving as a key cornerstone of a multi-layered initiative designed to clean up crime on the Boulevard corridor in Old Fourth Ward. This incident allegedly occurred about a block south of North Avenue and the MPSA confirmed that it, too, had heard similar stories of rocks being thrown at cars. “Be careful driving on Boulevard, particularly on weekends according to what a police officer told a Midtown resident,’’ the MPSA said through an email this week. Atlanta's Boulevard links a string of neighborhoods from Benteen to Old Fourth Ward to the borders of Virginia-Highland and Midtown. The stretch of Boulevard between Freedom Parkway and Ponce de Leon Avenue has …

I said nothing about the crime going unpunished, Marc. The crime should absolutely be punished. I was solely responding to your comment about not needing "a taxpayer-funded center or program to stop" the criminal activity. I read into your comment a desire on your part to not spend tax money on the kids perpetrating the crimes (did I misunderstand you on that count?). I wanted to point out that …   more ›
