Braves' hurler, Bank of America pitch in to fight hunger

Atlanta southpaw Jonny Venters joins bank volunteers at the westside's Atlanta Community Food Bank to help sort and pack meals for those in need.

Staff Report Atlanta Braves pitcher Jonny Venters recently joined 50 Bank of America employee volunteers sorting and packing 14,000 meals, made up of 21,000 pounds of food, at the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB). "It was great to volunteer with Bank of America employees and the Atlanta Community Food Bank to help make a difference and fight hunger in our community," Venters said in a release. The effort was part of Bank of America’s support of Feeding America's "Give a Meal" program. For every $1 donated to Feeding America or local food banks via www.bankofamerica.com/give or feedingamerica.org/BankofAmerica, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation will contribute an additional $2, up to a total match of $1.5 million.
