Fans of the Grey Knights will have the opportunity to watch Grady take on Monroe Area streamed live online Friday night.
It’s a big weekend for Midtown football teams kicks as Grady High and Georgia Tech hit the highway for some rather important contests. First up are the Grey Knights, who enter the second round of the Georgia High School Association playoffs on Friday evening. Grady, 9-2, will travel to Walton County to take on Monroe Area, 10-1, in a game set for 7:30 p.m. at Legion Field. Both teams area unranked as Grady is the No. 3 seed from Region 6-AAAA and Monroe Area is the top seed from 8-AAAA. The Purple Hurricanes pulled out a 21-14 victory over Shaw in the opening round while Grady quarterback Kivon Taylor led the Grey Knights to a 27-17 win at River Ridge last Friday. As the Georgia Tech football team prepares for Saturday's rivalry game against the Bulldogs, the Jackets learned Monday that a self-imposed post-season ban by the University of Miami will put the Jackets in the Dec. 1 ACC title game.

Greg McGarrity tells Atlanta sports talk radio station that despite Georgia dropping 18 of 22 to Florida, it's the Yellow Jackets whom the Bulldogs most want to beat in football each year.
Congratulations Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia does indeed consider you its biggest football rival after all. At least that’s what UGA Athletic Director Greg McGarity told AM-790 The Zone on Tuesday morning. Speaking on Mayhem in the AM, McGarity, a Georgia graduate who spent almost two decades working in the University of Florida athletic department, balked at labeling the Gators as the Bulldogs' biggest rival.
