10th & Piedmont set to open in Midtown

New restaurant and lounge located in the former Outwrite Bookstore space will hold a sneak peek preview event Sunday evening, one day before its official opening.

10th & Piedmont, the latest Midtown offering from restaurateurs and brothers Sean and Gilbert Yeremyan, is scheduled to open on Monday, Dec. 10 in the former Outwrite Bookstore & Coffeehouse space at 991 Piedmont Avenue. On Sunday night, 10th & Piedmont will be offering a sneak preview from 6:30 p.m. to midnight. Guests are invited to come enjoy passed hors d'oeuvres from the menu and a complimentary cocktail until 8 p.m. Complimentary valet parking is available behind the building on the Piedmont entrance and overflow parking will be available across the street at Blue MedSpa (190 10th Street). 10th & Piedmont officially opens tonight for dinner and will begin lunch service on Wednesday, Dec. 12. According to a press release, the restaurant will serve dinner Monday - Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday-Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Lunch will be offered with counter service Monday - Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the dinner menu offered with table service on Saturday from…   more ›

Friends to celebrate life of Blake's employee

Much-loved Midtown bartender passed away in his sleep earlier this week.

The life of a beloved Marietta man who was a fixture behind the bar at several Midtown establishments will be celebrated Friday.   Gary Michael Schwartz, 39, died in his sleep Sunday, bringing forth an outpouring of love from friends and customers whom made his acquaintance over the years at Blake’s On The Park, Gilbert’s Café & Bar and Joe’s on Juniper among others. The cause of his death has not been announced, but a friend said it was “unexpected.’’ Wrote one man on Gilbert’s Facebook page, “A visit with Gary always started with a smile and ended with a laugh.
