Do you think there really is a war on Christmas?
Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays? When it comes to season’s greetings, a new poll shows the majority of Americans prefer “Merry Christmas” to “Happy Holidays.” The survey from Rasmussen Reports finds that 68 percent of the people polled prefer the traditional “Merry Christmas” while just 23 percent like "Happy Holidays," which can cover a variety of occasions. When it comes to holiday signs, a whopping 70 percent of shoppers polled said they prefer to be greeted with “Merry Christmas” in stores rather than the more neutral Happy Holidays, according to a Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. The Atlanta Santa Speedo Run recently announced the location for its third annual run -- Midtown! "Runners will once again don their barely-there Speedos as they pound the pavement down Peachtree," spokesman Zane Harris said in an email. The run will begin at Hudson Grille on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2:00pm. Registration now is open. Participants must raise a minimum of $200. The event will benefit Bert’s Big Adventure, a non-profit organization that gives back to Atlanta-area children with terminal and chronic illnesses.

Conservancy introduces first annual 'Season of Magic.'

This holiday season will be a special one at Piedmont Park. This year, the Piedmont Park Conservancy is launching a new event called the "Season of Magic," which will feature horse-drawn carriage rides, a costumed caroling parade, holiday light show and carousel rides. The event will run from Nov. 20 to Jan. 1, 2012. “We wanted to create the perfect destination for families to celebrate the season. I don’t think there’s a more beautiful place in Atlanta to create lasting holiday memories than Piedmont Park,” Yvette Bowen, president and CEO of the conservancy, said in a release. “Piedmont Park, Georgia’s most visited free amenity, will quickly become Atlanta’s premier holiday destination.” Money raised during the Season of Magic will …
