APD Zone 5 Commander: Call 9-1-1 for any issue

Atlanta Police Department commander for the zone that covers many Midtown Patch neighborhoods says calling 9-1-1 is the only way department can keep a good record of where the issues are so that they can deploy resources to the areas that need it most.

But property theft experienced a slight increase and as some residents of Atlanta Police Department’s Zone 5 know, the miniscule dropping of aggravated assault and robbery crimes has barely been felt in the immediate area. So, since Kasim Reed has been in office the crime rate has been essentially flat even though the local economy has improved and more police are on the streets. Doesn't seem like a record I'd be too proud of during an upcoming re-election run.   more ›
