MNA to 'Mingle in Midtown' Wednesday

Come join friends and neighbors at La Tagliatella and see what's new with the Midtown Neighbors' Association.

The Midtown Neighbors’ Association (MNA) will be hosting its February Mingle in Midtown event Wednesday at La Tagliatella, located at 919 Peachtree at the corner of Peachtree and 8th streets. From 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., join friends, neighbors and colleagues on what looks will be a pleasant winter’s night with refreshing drink specials and a selection of munchies at one of Midtown's newest places to be seen. La Tagliatella features Italian cuisines from the northern regions of Italy and there will be complimentary appetizers and $5 drink specials tonight. While mingling, you might consider joining or renewing your MNA membership. When doing so, you may now earmark 25 percent of your membership dues to your favorite Midtown initiative.   Each …

Midtown Neighbors' Association Elects 2013 Board

At their annual meeting this week, the Midtown Neighbors' Association elected its 2013 board.

The Midtown Neighbors’ Association elected its 2013 board members at the organization's annual meeting, which was held Jan. 23 at Park Tavern.  Terry Bond will serve as president. Tony Rizzutowill serve as vice president, Mary Cobb as treasurer and Nancy Reynolds as secretary.  Other board members include Howell Adams III, Sharon Just, Todd Robinson, Jeff Burgess, Eboni Camille Chillis, Kendra Taylor, Kathleen Dumitrescu, Dana Persons and Greg Guhl. The MNA Mission Statement reads as follows: The mission of the Midtown Neighbors’ Association is to assure that our vibrant and diverse neighborhood becomes an increasingly better community in which to enjoy the benefits of the urban experience. MNA Annual Meeting and Spaghetti Dinner on Wednesday Night

The 2013 Midtown Neighbors’ Association Annual Meeting is set for Wednesday evening at Park Tavern.

The Midtown community is invited to attend the 2013 Midtown Neighbors’ Association Annual Meeting and Spaghetti Dinner at Park Tavern on Wednesday, Jan. 23 from 5:30-9 p.m. And make plans to stay afterwards to ice skate at the Southwest Rink at Park Tavern. Dinner prices for members are $10 for adults and $5 for children under the age of 10. Dinner price for non-members is $15 for adults. Skating costs extra. Guests of Park Tavern are charged to park in the Park Tavern parking lot, at a rate of $3 per car. The parking lot is managed by Lanier Parking Solutions on behalf of the City of Atlanta with proceeds benefiting the Atlanta BeltLine. Midtown Neighbors' Association opposes Uptown Station SAP

Group raises concerns that owner of the Midtown convenience store "has consistently failed to produce a comprehensive set of plans, been unable to provide adequate answers to concerns raised and more recently been unwilling to meet with the community."

The Midtown Neighbors' Association (MNA) has voted to oppose a Special Administrative Permit (SAP) for the “Uptown Station,” located at the edge of the Ansley Park neighborhood at 1521 Peachtree Street, on the grounds that the applicant has consistently failed to present a set of comprehensive plans to the community. Despite the objections of several area neighborhoods, most notably Ansley Park and Sherwood Forest, the proprietor of the proposed 24-hour service station and convenience store in north Midtown was granted a license this month to sell beer and wine by the city's License Review Board (LRB). MNA: Last Chance Membership Blitz; Final 2012 Meeting Thursday

Join the Midtown Neighbors' Association now or give the gift of membership to your favorite neighbor, and earmark 25 percent of your dues to your favorite Midtown initiative.

The final Midtown Neighbors’ Association Board of Directors meeting of 2012 will take place on Thursday evening in the upstairs community room at Jason’s Deli, located at 230 10th Street. All Board of Directors meetings are open to the public and generally take place the final Thursday evening of the month. The meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. and generally last 60-90 minutes. The agenda, including tonight's update on the 2013 Tour of Homes and Midtown Atlanta Shop & Dine events, is finalized on the Tuesday before the meeting and any Midtown resident may request to bring business before the board by submitting that request to: pres@midtownatlanta.org. MNA Shining Light Safety Walk scheduled Thursday

Safety walk comes night after the MNA hosts a Community Leadership Social Mingle in Midtown gathering at Escorpión Tequila Bar & Cantina.

The Midtown Neighbors’ Association (MNA) will be hosting its third neighborhood Shining Light Safety Walk of 2012 on Thursday, October 11 beginning at 8 p.m. The MNA also held Midtown Shining Light Safety Walks in the spring and summer in acts of solidarity in the fight against neighborhood crime. Make plans to meet up with your neighbors at the corner of Piedmont Avenue and 10th Street to walk the streets of Midtown in a group accompanied by Atlanta Police Department and Midtown Ponce Security Alliance uniformed officers. Bring your family, your friends, your neighbors, your flashlight, even your dog. Midtown Tour of Homes pushed to the spring

Fundraiser that began in 1971 was set to take place in November, but will now be held most likely in its accustomed April weekend slot

The Midtown Neighbors' Association’s 2012 Midtown Tour of Homes, originally slated for next month, has been pushed back to the spring of 2013 because “we have to make sure we have a quality event, and we have to make sure we do it right,’’ said MNA Board Member Terry Bond. The Midtown Tour of Homes, a fundraiser that began in 1971, was last staged in April 2011 and had typically always been held during the same April weekend as the Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park. It was combined in 2011 with another MNA fundraiser, Shop and Dine Week, as the volunteer neighborhood organization and Midtown Alliance combined to launch the "Celebrate! Midtown" festival in April 2011. Shop and Dine Week, which offers people discounted meals at Midtown …

Midtown Neighbors' Association meets Thursday

The monthly Midtown Neighbors' Association Board of Directors meetings are open to the public

The Midtown Neighbors’ Association Board of Directors will conduct their monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the upstairs community room at Jason’s Deli. All Board of Directors meetings are open to the public and generally take place the final Thursday evening of the month. The agenda, which is attached here, is finalized on the Tuesday before the meeting and any Midtown resident may request to bring business before the board by submitting that request to: pres@midtownatlanta.org. Jason’s Deli is located at 230 10th St. and the meetings generally last about 90 minutes.
