Cousins signs Colliers to 35,000-square-foot lease; move consolidates Collier’s Midtown and Central Perimeter offices.

Cousins Properties Incorporated has signed Colliers International, a leading commercial real estate firm, to a new 35,000-square-foot lease at the Promenade office tower in Midtown. The move to Promenade, scheduled for February 2014, will consolidate Collier’s Midtown and Central Perimeter offices into one location, leaving room to expand beyond its current roster of 150 Atlanta employees. Colliers, which is Atlanta’s fifth largest commercial real estate brokerage, has been a prominent Midtown tenant since 1986. Jamestown, which three months ago announced plans to sell the 28-story 999 Peachtree building at the corner of Peachtree and 10th streets, has now pulled the tower off the market. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reported Monday that the company had been seeking offers in excess of $160 million for the 620,000-square-foot building, but now feels it can garner a higher value over the course of the next 18 to 36 months.
