Man Shot in Face Outside a Midtown Area House Party

Gunfire was exchanged after a dispute outside of a party.

Atlanta Police Detectives are still piecing together events that occurred during the early morning hours on Monday outside of the Savannah Midtown Apartments on North Avenue. Sgt. Gregory Lyon told Midtown Patch that, "preliminary information is that a 23-year-old male was invited to a party at the location, 215 North Avenue."  Lyon says that this individual was injured by a gunshot wound to the head. "On arrival, he encountered a male with whom he had been having an ongoing dispute. The victim told investigators he left the party, but was followed by that individual and several other males," according to Sgt. Lyon. Armed Pedestrian Robbery in Midtown Neighborhood Friday

Two men and woman robbed at gunpoint near Grady High School.

Three people were robbed at gunpoint as they walked through the Midtown Neighborhood near Grady High School late Friday night. According to Atlanta Police Officer John Chafee, the three victims – two men and a woman – were walking in the area of Vedado Way and 8th Street around 11:30 p.m. when a dark-colored Honda Civic passed by them with the headlights off. The victims were able to see three people inside the vehicle but were unable to initially make out a detailed description of the suspects.   Not long after, one of the male suspects got out of the car and approached the victims, who later told police that the man was “wearing dark colored clothing, a black hoodie, and a black skully face mask with a white skeleton printed on the front…

Two Local Businesses Vandalized Early Wednesday

Both Area 4 Salon and Rapid Sign Systems near Piedmont Avenue and Monroe Drive intersection were vandalized Wednesday morning.

Two businesses in the shopping center located at Piedmont Avenue and Monroe Drive had their front glass doors smashed in by vandals during the early morning hours on Wednesday. Video taken by 11Alive news cameras shows how the doors were smashed open on both the Area 4 Salon located at 1536 Monroe Dr. and the Rapid Sign Systems business located at 1531 Piedmont Avenue. The Atlanta Police Department was unable to confirm if any items were stolen from the business, but the openings were large enough for suspects to get inside of each of these locations, according to Officer Kim Jones. The officers from Midtown Blue have the ability to monitor the area with an extensive network of high-definition video cameras that cover nearly 90 percent of the public right-of-way. And as one can see from the video here, there’s a lot to see on the streets of Midtown!!

Tuesday Morning Armed Pedestrian Robbery Near 14th Street

The suspects brandished handguns, and stole one of the victim's car keys, cell phone and purse.

Two women and an infant were robbed at gunpoint while sitting in their car in Midtown early Tuesday morning. According to Atlanta Police Officer Carlos Campos, the victims were sitting in a Mercedes that was “having some sort of mechanical problems” near the intersection of Holly and 14th streets when two male suspects approached the vehicle.  Both suspects brandished guns and took one of the victim’s purse, cell phone and car keys before fleeing on foot south on Holly before continuing east on 14th. Police officers combed the area in search of the suspects, but were unsuccessful in locating them. The stolen cellphone did not have any tracking capabilities according to Campos. Arrests Made In Valentine's Midtown Armed Robberies

Atlanta Police have apprehended a pair of suspects accused of being involved in five pedestrian armed robberies Thursday morning, including three in the Midtown area.

The Atlanta Police Department announced late Friday afternoon that it has made two arrests in connection with Thursday’s pre-dawn spree of armed pedestrian robberies, including three bordering the Ansley Park and Midtown neighborhoods. According to Atlanta Police Officer Carlos Campos, the two suspects, whose names have not been released, were in the process of being charged with five counts of Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. [Update: APD has released the name of one arrested: 23-year-old Dennis Stallings] It is an on-going investigation of the five robberies that occurred across the city. Trio of pre-dawn armed pedestrian robberies in Ansley, Midtown neighborhoods

Love was certainly not in the Valentine's Day air after a string of pre-dawn armed pedestrian robberies around the Ansley Park and Midtown neighborhoods early Thursday morning. According to Atlanta Police Officer Kim Jones, at approximately 4:45 a.m., officers responded to a call at 1280 Peachtree Street where a male victim stated that he had been robbed by several black males near the intersection of Peachtree and 12th streets. Midtown Pedestrian Robbery Results in Arrests; APD Officer Narrowly Avoids Being Shot

Four males are in custody after this attempted robbery.

Great smarts, technology, and good fortune were all part of a Monday morning pedestrian robbery that ended well but could have gone tragically wrong, as an APD officer narrowly escaped being shot at close range by a robbery suspect. Public Affairs Officer Kim Jones released information about this pedestrian robbery that occurred during the early Monday morning hours. According to Jones, the two victims at 1:52 a.m., "were robbed at gunpoint on Juniper Street and 8th Street."  Officer P. White responded to the call and started the search for 4 black males that stole their "wallets, phones, and credit cards, and fled the scene in a vehicle."
