This is Ernesto from Sausalito West Coast Grill here. I just want to reassure everyone that the place is clean and the food is safe. Let me explain to everyone exactly what the problems on the inspection were. First they off points for not having a sign telling the employees to wash their hands (we wear gloves all the time), and second they dinged us for not having the guacamole, pico de gallo, …   more ›

Happy New Year, Midtown!

While some of us are nursing champagne hangovers this morning while pondering what resolutions we will actually accomplish in 2013, others are just wondering about the year's first meal.

Welcome to 2013, Midtown Patch readers. Looks like it's going to begin wet with a 100 percent chance of rain and temperatures climbing into the mid-50s forecasted for Tuesday. Although almost all government offices are closed for New Year's Day, many restaurants, bars and other kinds of businesses will be operating. While you know that eating black-eyed peas, ham or greens are thought to bring prosperity, maybe you don’t want to spend the first day of 2013 in the kitchen. With that in mind, here are a few dining options for Tuesday. And of course, if we’ve left one off the list, please put it into the comments box below. Park 75 Lounge at Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta will be serving its Park 75 Amercian Breakfast from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. It …

Ecco installs new irrigation system and cedar beds

Midtown restaurant is currently growing Tuscan kale, broccoli rabe and Southern giant curly mustard in the new beds to use in dishes found on its seasonally inspired menu.

Midtown's Ecco has been on the forefront of conservation efforts in the restaurant industry, leading the way by becoming the state’s first dumpster-free restaurant and the first Georgia restaurant to receive Green Foodservice Alliance (GFA) certification. The Fifth Group Restaurant, located at 40 7th Street at the corner of Cypress Street, continues its efforts to remain one of the most sustainable and environmentally conscious establishments by recently adding eight new cedar beds with “cold frame” structures to the rooftop garden, allowing a larger variety of produce to be grown and for seeds to be started earlier. The cold frames are covered with Agribon, a material that protects crops from wind, frost, severe cold and insects. Farmer D…
