Longtime Midtown area business heading across town
Oriental Designer Rugs is moving to the westside's home décor and furnishings district after a nearly two-decade run in the Amsterdam Walk district.
An Amsterdam Walk business for almost two decades is in its final weeks at its current locale before relocating to Atlanta’s westside. Oriental Designer Rugs has been in business for 29 years, the last 19 at 560-A Amsterdam Avenue. But due in part to its expanding rug collection, come February 1, its new showroom will be located at 1250-B Menlo Drive off Huff Road near other designer/decorator home furnishing stores. The new location will be 150 percent larger for the direct importer-wholesaler-retailer that carries rugs from around the world, including machine-loomed rugs made in USA as well as other countries. The belt line is the best thing Atlanta has done in awhile. There is no evidence of crime in that area and it provides a safe place for children and families, singles , everyone to walk and ride bikes safely.
