Todd Robinson Running For Atlanta Council

The attorney will seek the District 2 council seat.

Another candidate has joined the race for the Atlanta City Council District 2 seat now held by Kwanza Hall. Todd Robinson, a 32-year-old attorney, announced he's running on his candidate website. Jon Jones also says he's running for the District 2 seat. Some of the neighborhoods in District 2 include Inman Park, Poncey Highlands, the Old Fourth Ward and Midtown. Redrawn district lines will go into effect in 2014. Robinson lives in Midtown. His website says he grew up in Athens, attended the University of Georgia and worked as a child abuse investigator with the Georgia Department of Human Services. 'Naked Chef' Stirs the Pot by Announcing Run for Mayor of Atlanta

Chef Paul Luna of Loca Luna fame is blunt about his message: "I'm Running for Mayor and Kasim Reed Can't Compete."

Chef Paul Luna is not one to mince words or beat around the subject. He has been an outspoken restaurateur and citizen in the City of Atlanta for years now, and recently decided to make the announcement loud and clear that he is running to be Atlanta's next mayor. Creative Loafing described his background like this: The Dominican-born Luna, who was once likened to a Navi tribesman from the movie Avatar by Atlanta magazine's Christiane Lauterbach, has been ruffling feathers here since he first came on the scene in the early '90s to open the upscale Italian restaurant Bice. Fulton Elections Board Chairman Steps Down

Fulton Commission Chairman John Eaves said the departure of Roderick Edmonds presents a chance for a "fresh start" for a department that has its challenges.

Roderick Edmond, Chairman of the Fulton County Board of Registration & Elections, resigned Friday. A press statement said he will leave as soon as a replacement is identified. Chairman John H. Eaves said, “A change in leadership at this time presents an opportunity to make a fresh start as we continue to address challenges in our Registration & Elections department. We will immediately begin working to identify a replacement.” The Fulton County Registration & Elections department has had issues in the past, losing its chief and being attacked for serious problems and delays in handling recent elections.
