Monday murder of a former Grady High student outside a Ponce de Leon Avenue apartment complex comes as transitioning area continues to try to distance itself from a reputation as being a home for criminal activity
On Tuesday while area residents were left speculating as to why a local man was gunned down Monday afternoon outside a Poncey-Highland apartment complex, others were left still believing the Ponce de Leon Avenue corridor will succeed in its evolving urban gentrification in the face of some recent violent crime. Lee Lowery III was shot and killed by a lone gunman shortly after 5 p.m. Monday while attempting to visit the Ford Factory Lofts, located in the Poncey-Highland neighborhood next to the Ponce City Market development.
