Efforts to Save Relapse Theatre Continue
An update on fundraising efforts to save the recently shuttered Midtown comedy playhouse that enjoyed acclaimed praise, but was also saddled with mounting bills.
Last week Patch reported the sudden closure of the Relapse Theatre comedy playhouse off 14th Street in the Home Park neighborhood. Escalating financial burdens were the main reason why the six-year-old theatre located in a former church at 380 14th Street near Mecaslin Street was forced to close its doors. As reported, friends and supporters are hoping that Relapse can respond to the fiscal emergency and several fundraising efforts are in full swing. Included among such is “Relapse Back In The Saddle - Get Relapse Theatre back open so it can continue to have a positive influence on everyone who steps foot inside,” which as of Monday morning had raised almost $6,500.
