Slicing Up Westside Pie

Former independent pizzeria on Huff Road joins the Slice family and becomes Slice Westside

Opened 13 months ago on the westside at 1133 Huff Road, Westside Pie is now part of the Slice family and has been renamed Slice Westside. The former independent pizzeria was started by Karen Smiley, who last year told Patch, "I chose this area because it was up and coming, and there was nothing quite like this over here. West Midtown is the next it thing." The change of ownership means the 3,500-square-foot eatery has altered its menu some, too. Look for Slice favorites such as the Chico Suave (skillet baked mozzarella cheese bread) and new additions like the Slice-Style Deep Dish Pizza. “We loved Westside Pie, but Slice has the style we’ve been striving for,” Smiley said in a release. “Why not build a brand around the same ‘urban art and …

Read more from the ABC about this budding “Italian village” near the Georgia Tech campus. On the heels of being honored with the highest score in Zagat’s first-ever …

Correction: There is no part of Howell Mill Road in Midtown. West, or otherwise. That is known as the Brookwood area. The border of West Midtown ends on the East side of the Connector, from North Ave. up to 14th street. Thanks for allowing me to clarify. It seems everyone wants to be part of our prestigious neighborhood :D   more ›
