Thanks Matt. It does seem that a good solution is one that serves many uses for this property.

ReplyHow about having the students in design at Cleveland State or Case submit designs for this park? The city could get free, most likely high quality designs with some real imagination, and the students could use the work as part of their degree requirements. The winner would also get something for their portfolio.

ReplyStrip center or parking lot...is that all the options anyone can come up with? Maybe if people would stop the silly whinny name calling, and work towards a solution that everyone can agree actually helps the nieghborhood rather than only one side something great can be built. Perhaps a parking garage with small retail spaces along the front and a park/playground for the church school on top?

ReplyCongrats to Marlene...if only more of us operated that way...I am trying. I am surpised how fast people look for the negative rather than what they can take from the article to improve their chances of a better retirement.

ReplyActually a large chunk of 30318 is around the HomePark/Georgia Tech area, and lots of people call this Midtown or West Midtown. That is probably why the author said "in and around Midtown".

No, actually the President spoke while covered by an awning to protect from the rain. So in this case the military members assigned to accompany the President did not hold an umbrella while the President spoke. This is a long standing tradition of service utilized by all of our recent presidents.
