Armed Atlantic Station Resident Stops Burglars Inside his Condo at The Atlantic

Atlanta Police officers are crediting the homeowner and victim of an attempted burglary at The Atlantic condominium building at Atlanta Station, for helping to capture two thieves on Sunday afternoon.

According to Sgt. Lyon Gregory, "the resident came home to find 2 suspects in his home." The crime occurred at 270 17th Street, inside The Atlantic.

The victim who did not share his name, told Fox 5 that he returned home with his daughter to find his door opened. He told them that he confronted an individual with his gun and chased him into the stair-well. He says, at that time he did not know that there was still another suspect inside his apartment trying to hide.

According to APD, "after an investigation and some assistance from the resident, both suspects were located and arrested." One of the suspects actually lives in the 270 17th street building as well.

Sgt. Lyon told Midtown Patch that, "both were arrested for burglary and sent to Fulton County jail."
