Man Shot during Argument in Nightclub VIP Room

A man was shot several times during an argument in the VIP room at the Room Service Lounge on Piedmont Circle.

A man was shot several times at a nightclub off Monroe Drive early Friday morning after an agrument broke out in a VIP room.

The shooting occurred just before 4 a.m. at the on Piedmont Circle, according to Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones. When officers arrived at the scene, they spoke to the victim, she said. 

"The victim was with a group of individuals inside the club in a VIP section when another group of individuals came to the club and wanted access to the same VIP area," Jones said.  "Words were exchanged and the victim's group was asked to leave the club by security."

But when the victim and his friends refused to leave, the argument escalated into a "physical" fight, she said. All the people were asked to leave the club. 

"At some point, a gun was produced by someone in the second group," Jones said. The victim was shot several times, she said. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

No arrests have been made, Jones said. Police are investigating the incident.
